Bruce Cassidy is in his third full season as Head Coach behind the Boston bench, having been named the 28th head coach in team history on April 26, 2017. He led the Bruins to the third-best record in the NHL in 2018-19 and the club went to the playoffs for his third straight year, advancing to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2013. He earned his 100th win on February 12, 2019 in just his 166th game as Boston’s coach, which was the second-fastest 100 wins in club history. The native of Ottawa, Ontario was drafted 18th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft, and played five pro seasons with the Blackhawks. He then played three seasons in Europe before retiring with the IHL’s Indianapolis Ice in 1996 to accept a head-coaching job with Jacksonville of the East Coast Hockey League.
