Early Tuesday morning, the Washington Capitals announced they had hired Peter Laviolette as their next head coach. An all-to familiar face to the city of Philadelphia, Lavy now becomes the enemy.
Every day or so, depending on the vagaries of the NHL’s schedule, Philadelphia Flyers coach Alain Vigneault and assistant Mike Yeo head downstairs from their rooms in Hotel X, just west of downtown Toronto, to one of the four tennis courts housed in the bubble’s massive, 10,000 square foot athletic center.

It’s paid dividends for both Yeo, working with the defense and the Flyers’ once-anemic penalty kill unit, and the Flyers.
